By the reports of two police officers the fire became on this day from the 4.11. In 2011 in Zwickauer Frühlingsstrasse and his results – not least by the sighting of several hundred photos – clearly. The accusation accuses here Beate Zschäpe heavy arson as well as tried murder of three people. Small however important details like the installed safety measures in the flat, a total of 11 discovered firearms as well as the number of the sleeping sites gave (still to be valued) insight into the life in the relative „underground“.

The meeting begins at 9.45 o’clock. With the presence judge Manfred Götzl finds out that defender Anja Sturm, lawyer of Beate Zschäpe, today is not present. There is present an expert, Dr. Setzensack of the State Office of Criminal Investigation in Bavaria.

Today it is about the fire in Frühlingsstrasse 26 in Zwickau, the last flat from Mundlos, Böhnhardt and Zschäpe before the selfexposure of the NSU on the 4th of November, 2011. The first witness is a sergeant St. of the Saxon official dog’s school. St. gives that he has had on the 5th of November, 2011 call readiness. He has got a phone call that it would have come in Zwickau to the explosion of a row house. He has come with a funeral feel dog and with his both fire means feel dogs there. The colleague L. [later witness]has already been present. First it has been a matter of clarifying possibly missing people. Nevertheless, corpses none was found. Nevertheless, the fire means feel dogs would already have registered in the stairwell, and then there have also been in the flat in the first upper floor several announcements. He has come to arrangement with the colleagues then on the 7th of November to an other investigation, this time with a colleague who also leads a fire means feel dog. Then some sketches and photos are taken in inspection. The sketches show the situation of the respective announcements of the feel dogs in the flat. The photos mostly show the dogs at the announcement. St. says in addition: „The dog freezes not, but lies down and points where the fire means are.“ From the incidental action it is asked on which the dogs strike. St. answers: „The dogs are so trained that they can localise the original fire means and register.“ After an ascertainment asked, he says that it is about customary fire means which could be bought in filling stations or in property markets, so possibly petrol, diesel or dilution. The different dogs would have been confirmed at several places mutually, according to St..

The witness criminal head master L., fire investigator follows with the policedirektion southwest Saxon, entrusts with the cause of the fire inquiry in Frühlingsstrasse 26 from the 4th to the 28th of November, 2011 including all tracks up to the handing over to the Federal Criminal Police Office. L. describes first the expiry of his activities. The fire brigade has come about 15.15 o’clock at the fire place, the criminal investigation department at 15.45 o’clock, he himself about 18 o’clock. The fire in the flat has already occurred there, the walls have been sprinkled on two sides, the rubble layed around on sidewalk and street. After the first inquiries three people would have had to be in the house. A woman has been seen how she left the object, therefore, two men are still to be searched. Because the building was collapse-threatened according to structural engineer, „the statics has by an excavator are cleared away“ have to go. The object has been guarded from the 4th of November to the 28th of November round-the-clock to exclude that foreign people stay in it. After the application of the excavator steel props have been drawn. Then the house with a funeral feel dog and fire means feel dogs has been searched. The fire means feel dogs would have found several tracks. On Saturday USBV forces [USBV = unconventional explosive devices and fire devices] have come in addition, on Sunday an explosive feel dog has examined the object. A high concentration of petrol has been noticeable, it has smelt very strongly of it. A gas explosion should be excluded, because lies close only in the adjoining house 26a Gas, there, however, everything has been in order. Then he has split the flat in single areas. In the object, among the rest, in a safe deposit which was opened „provably“ and in the fire rubble which was transported by the excavator outwardly a total of 11 weapons plus ammunition would have been found. The whole fire rubble has been examined up to the 11th of November for tracks. Found objects are bagged on site and been laid out in the garage of the police of Zwickau and have been dried. Saxony LKA has at 22 places at which the dogs would have struck – in the whole flat distributes – tracks taken and at 19 places petrol proved. Three places have stayed open, if petrol is there, however, probably also to find because dogs are better than every lab analysis.

The building has been torn off, finally to look whether still hollow cavities are there.  In the following pictures from the photo briefcases are taken, the L. have made, have explained in inspection and individually from L. The briefcases are very detailed. They show the fire, the fire-fighting measures of the fire brigade, the later safeguarding measures and then the securing of evidence after the fire. Moreover, they show the meticulousness with which the fire investigator has gone forward. The pictures, according to L., have been made mainly by himself. As far as they show the fire, they have been made partially also by the fire brigade or other policemen or have been taken from a video of a passer-by. First some overview sketches are shown. Then the first photo shows the house in a historical black-and-white admission of about 1900. Before it goes on with the pictures to the fire and to the inquiries, L points. Overview pictures of the property from the time before the fire. These came, according to L., from an appraisement of the building from the 24th of October, 2011. With many pictures it is about the „locking security“ of the building. The pictures of the securing of evidence in the fire flat show first always the state, then the state after the „evication“ of the rooms by the police.  The house in Frühlingsstrasse in Zwickau exists of two halves with the house numbers 26 and 26a. In the number 26 there was the fire flat. The flat was the only inhabited flat in number 26 and booked the whole first floor. In the bell to the flat stood the code name „Dienelt“, in one of the mailboxes both code names „Dienelt“ and „Burkhardt“. In the basement of the house there was an empty restaurant, in the attic just two flats were developed. The front door lay back-sided. The fire flat had two front doors which was obstructed from the stair from left entrance, nevertheless, from the inside, so that it could not be used any more. The flat was to be entered only by the right entrance. Beside two baths, halls and the kitchen she existed of four rooms. The flat has split L. in „fire areas“ which correspond more or less to the rooms and are marked with letter. Besides L has. to the rooms after supposed uses other names given. After hall, bath and kitchen follow clockwise: Sitting rooms, sports space (there were put up a dumbbell bank and a run tape), camp (it was separated by afterwards built-in walls of the sports space), bedroom, cat’s room (there was a scratcher), the second bath and another hall. The area of Sitting room, sports space and bedroom lay in the direction of Frühlingsstrasse, the area of cat’s room to the outgoing violet way. In the flat four sleeping sites have been found, namely in the rooms sitting room, sports space, bedroom and cat’s room. In all four televisions would have been, according to L., biggest in the cat’s room. Petrol tracks were found nearly in the whole flat. A track was also found in the ground floor in the stairwell which has not burnt, nevertheless. There would originate temperatures from about more than 1,000 degrees if petrol burns, according to L. Before the flat on the first floor a 10-litre jerry can was found, according to L. He has been moved by the fire brigade, however, his original location should be ascertained by questioning the firefighters. In the biggest part of the flat it has come to one single detonation, so that everything all at once is alight. In the sitting room such an ignition only late when the fire brigade was there already has taken place; the door to the sports space has probably been closed. The door of the sitting room to the kitchen has been opened. The kitchen was concerned comparatively some by the fire. In the first hall whose doors have also been closed has itself no so violent fire developed. Also not in the first bath which goes off on the right from this hall. There has been a separate fire and a very high petrol concentration should be ascertained. In these three rooms the officials could have protected many intact objects., Among the rest, pictures show nearly intact food in the fridge. The pictures show the violeness of the fire. One sees the mainly out sprinkled wall before sports space and bedroom. The rest of the wall would be shifted, according to L., about 40 cm in the direction of the street. One sees clear tears in the remained masonry. Some pictures show the so-called remains shades, so the areas in which in the explosion remains were flung. Therefore, remains were flung up to sidewalk and street. A picture shows the sitting room of an older woman who lived on the first floor of house number 26a. On the wall to the number 26 strong tears are found in plaster and wallpaper. The wall has been shifted here about several millimetres and flue gas has already penetrated into the flat of the neighbour, says L. In the flat 11 weapons have been found. This explains L. with the help of a sketch. Weapon 1 has been found in the bedroom. It has been reloaded, the cartridges would have released everybody. Weapon 2 has been found in a safe deposit in the bedroom which has been opened as can be proved. There hand chains have been also found. These would probably have belonged „to the colleague“. At this point there intervenes advocat mister steel, defender of Zschäpe, this is an evaluation. His colleague advocat army rushes to the aid of him: The witness introduces en passant new which does not correspond at all to his order. Götzl says, L. has spoken absolutely with colleagues, this is normal. Then it further goes with the inspection. Weapon 3, according to L., has been found in the hall before the second bath. Then the remaining weapons and the ammunition have been found in the rubble which had been cleared away by the excavator. Moreover, in fire area L bank notes have been found.  Conspicuously in the flat are the extensive safety measures. In the flat would have been, according to L., four supervision cameras. In the front door the door spy has been substituted about the brass sign with the code name „Dienelt“ with a camera. The door itself was, the pictures, by a deadbolt which was anchored horizontally and vertically in addition protected show this. On the sill in the kitchen a camera has been hidden in a box with artificial plants, says L. In one of the pictures to this complex an ashtray, a lighter and a green packet of „Pall Mall“ cigarettes is to be seen. The camera in the kitchen has been directed upon the Haustüre. In the same kind like this camera the other cameras on the sills have probably been right also in the sitting room and in the cat’s room. The camera in the kitchen could be protected nearly intact. The camera in the sitting room has been rinsed by the fire-fighting water in the space. The camera in the cat’s room became, pictures of the fire, so strongly damaged show this that she fell during the fire on the sidewalk. L. points out particularly to the fact that the window box in which the camera at the sitting room window was in the pictures, in October, 2011 were made to the appraisement, is not to be seen. The cameras are, according to L., with cables which were moved „properly“, been connected with each other. Particularly securely the cellar intact by the fire has also been the inhabitant of the fire flat. He would be marked by a sign attached with adhesive tape with the label „Keller Dienelt“ = „cellar Dienelt“ and to both sides with steel doors been close. The doors have been provided, according to L., in each case with a radio alarm dispatch rider who was opened if the door, a signal to a station in the flat delivered.  After four photo briefcases and about 400 frames judge Götzl interrupts the examination and announces to want to hear L. and the competent judge mister Setzensack in 17. and if necessary 18th of July once again. At 16 o’clock the today’s meeting is finished.

Incidental action representative lawyer Peer Stolle explains to it:
„The ‚preserved confession‘ of the NSU is from considerable meaning for the procedure, in particular for the debt question of Beate Zschäpe. Cameras in the window box, only eleven weapons in the flat together with ammunition, partly ready to shoot and later evaluated numerous newspaper reports on the murders and posters or plans about the reconnaissance of the potential scenes must have been confessed of the defendants. They play for her intention and the accused organisation in the NSU a crucial role.“
